My Presentation

My school visit presentation is based on the book The Adventures of Tommy the Tomato who teaches children healthy eating habits. My slideshow both excites and educates, inspiring children to eat healthier. The show is very interactive with me asking questions and explanations throughout. Through my presentation, I show the rewards of healthy eating through before and after illustrations. I tell them what sparked my idea for Tommy the Tomato and how they can do the same and create their own book. My presentations end with each child having the opportunity to have their picture taken with Tommy the Tomato. This picture can be downloaded and pasted on the back inside cover of their own” The Adventures of Tommy the tomato book.”

I do a maximum of three sessions a day which run about 45 minutes each. During free time, before or after sessions, I would be happy to sign books.

What I need

Please provide:

  • A space that will get dark
  • Powerpoint computer & projector set up (Windows)
  • (If you do not have powerpoint, please contact me.)
  • Screen of white wall for projection
  • Microphone
  • Easel
  • Blank paper
  • Cup of water

Special Requests:

Get the kids and staff excited! It is important to expose my books to your students prior to my visit. It will make for a more rewarding day.

I request that you do not read the book I will be presenting to the children. Please keep grade levels somewhat together, (meaning, do not mix a fifth grade class with a second grade class, ect.) I request that teachers remain present during my presentation, so that they can later reinforce what is learned.
